Screeding

Screeding

Construction Techniques have knowledge and experience in installing all types of industrial and commercial screeds, including fast drying, free flowing and traditional screeds.
Screeds are often needed within the construction build up of a substrate for various reasons, ranging from increasing the base level of the concrete substrate, to levelling or adding strength to an existing build up, or simply to provide a smooth finish for subsequent floor finishes. In recent years, due to architectural influence, screeds have also been employed as a final floor finish, often polished or left as a wearing screed with a seal coat.

Surface regularity has played a significant part in many of the projects that the business has been involved with, and Construction Techniques has experience in working in compliance with the stringent British Standards (BS 8203-1:2003 section 6.8.3). There are three main standards for surface regularity and they are SR1, SR2, and SR3. SR1 is the highest standard, SR2 is medium standard and SR3 being the low or utility standard. Through in house datum level surveys and screed teams, we are able to offer clients assurances that required specifications are able to be met.

In addition to the screed element of a structural slab, Construction Techniques is also able to offer a single point installation warranty from the substrate through to the floor finishes, by employing our resin or soft flooring divisions following screed installs, offering clients complete peace of mind.

Our services include:

  • Base screeds including unbounded screeds and screeds laid to falls
  • Self levelling Industrial screeds with high compressive strength for mechanical trafficked areas
  • Underlayment screeds used before soft flooring finishes
  • Fast drying floor screeds
  • Screeds used over underfloor heating
