Project Summary: This site is home to a vast building, holding a total of 19 printing presses, used to print the country’s leading newspapers and magazines. The 19 presses were sat on elevated concrete slabs that were isolated from the surrounded structural slab with a 50mm isolation joint. The repeated, aggressive vibration had caused damage and debris build up within the joint causing transmission and vibration to the adjacent slabs. CTL proposed the installation of a seismic isolation jointing solution to solve the problem. All works had to be carried out in a dust free environment as the printing presses remained in service.
