Eccles Wastewater Treatment Works (WwTW)

Contract Date: 2017

Project Value: £50K

Building / Structure / Area: Storm water overflow tank

Client: United Utilities

Main Contractor: GCA

Main Products / Systems used: Sika 201 Polyurethane water stop

Project Summary: A storm water overflow tank was constructed using pre-cast concrete rings sunk to a depth of 30m. The base slab was then cast out of reinforced concrete. Unfortunately, it was noted soon after there was significant ground eater infiltration that required water stopping prior to being put into service. CTL proposed the use of Sika water reactive polyurethane systems injected via a complex series of injection points using high pressured injection techniques to prevent future water ingress.
